✎ My 1st year in Art Fight, Art lettering, Illustration portfolio, and a freebie!!

Hiii!! So this month and the end of last month was a very confusing and surprisingly busy month! I got called back for a few of the illustration gigs I applied for while I was on a week-long trip to the countryside with the family of my partner.

Summary: I joined my 1st year in Art Fight, explored adding lettering to a few illustrations, currently working on portfolio-focused projects!

✎ *ੈ✩‧₊ My 1st year in Art Fight ✩‧₊

So this year was my first year ever to join in on the yearly art battle, Art Fight! I honestly did not think I had the energy after I came back from the trip but I was wrong! I also told myself I would finish at least 6 attacks, and in the end I got to do 7 - that also includes 2 revenge arts! >: )

I also was so excited and surprised whenever someone would attack me with amazing art for one of my OCs. I honestly was so focused on attacking others I forgot people can attack me too XD

This was honestly so so very fun, there are so many fun and interesting character designs! I am excited to join again next year! :, )

These were made for fun and the joy of the challenge! I do not normally make illustrations with the intention of including text, but I love seeing illustrations with text and wanted to try it for myself finally!

There is just something about text that is purposely included in the overall composition of an illustration. The added text just adds so much more story and context to the overall artwork, whether the text is related to the visual elements or not!

I watched these videos to get a loose and super super basic introduction to lettering by hand before I trying it out myself. All created by Chris Piascik

Silly Lovebug: A personal project about a workaholic cupid sent to the mortal world after a failed valentine mission. But after various matchmaking mishaps for her very overworked neighbor, the little cupid realizes that what her neighbor needs most is how to show herself self-love.

Made for a chapter book format with a front & back cover and a few interior spot art.

This is for a picture book I am building up, about a Boyaca Sheep farmer who adores his sheeps so very much! He one day finds his fence broken and his sheep gone! Will he be reunited with his fluffy family again??

Here there are a lot of small cities and towns and many many different types of farms! The animals I saw the most while on the road here: sheep, cows, horses, and a few goats. It was super exciting since it was my first time seeing a sheep in real life!! 🐏 !!!!
