Hi folks!! I hope you are doing well! It has been some time since I wrote to you, about a good two months or so! :O

Anyways, I am here to share my new sketchy zine with you guys - first and foremost! Free to download and view for everyone, of course donations are always appreciated! >:3c

✴︎˚ SKETCHY ZINE: Places & Cars

A 14-page sketchbook digital zine, featuring my love to drawing different places and cars!

Again, this is free to download and view for everyone, of course donations are always appreciated!

I personally recommend getting it on itch.io if you have an account there. Unlike ko-fi shop, in itch.io they keep a library of the games, comics, books, and other things you download and purchase. So, you do not have to look for it manually, but have it easy access in your library.

I find it fairly common that many artists are not a fan of drawing landscapes and vehicles, so I hoped that this zine shows the different ways you can and also have fun while doing it! It does not have to look 100% like the thing — but as long as “it is good enough and you can somewhat tell what it is“ then that is what matters! Also having fun!!

✎ *ੈ✩ Art update: Slowtember

I started working on Slowtember to get myself mentally out of “the art grind“ mindset and get back to play and fun. Slowtember is a very chill 7-prompt challenge during the month of September, created by Megaelod. https://bsky.app/profile/megaelod.bsky.social/post/3lwymh733es2u

I so far made 4 artworks for the challenge, with combining prompt 4 and 5 together in one art piece.

Prompt: Stationary

Prompts: peach & business, mixed together

So far I have achieved my goal to loosen up, and I have thought of stopping — but I am so close I rather finish the challenge than stop mid-way.

While I was working on this, even after the first prompt - I felt myself unconsciously pressuring myself to make something more out of this challenge. Despite setting strong intentions of doing this to loosen up and have fun with art again. It was tough, but I was able to get past the outcome expectations mindset and just draw whatever first comes to mind. : )

My method was:

  • Do not plan sketches ahead

  • Draw with as little digital layers as possible (For me that was only having two layers for each prompt: Lines and Colors)

  • Follow your first idea first and build from that.

In the middle of Slowtember, I was also playing in my digital sketchbook and colored these two little guys. I also played with my finished portfolio artwork — to make it more “ghostlymatte“ post-appropriate ehehehe (No, I will not elaborate what that means).

It has been a good while since I really let myself get into drawing fanart for the things I am watching. Right now I am on season 6 of Venture Bros!!! ❤️ It is so insanely good and fun.

✎ *ੈ✩ My October art plans! :3c

I have a few plans in mind for October, art-wise!

Two October daily-ish art challenges! One is Sighstober (https://bsky.app/profile/sighsra.bsky.social/post/3ly6k3uocek2a) that I will do digitally and share with the public and you guys. And another, is my own personal prompt list where I will draw in my physical sketchbook and post only only for my paying patrons <3.

I do not plan to be posting and making art on the weekends, but let us see how many I can do for each! >:3c I may even combine a few prompts if I find it interesting!

Anyone else planning on an art challenge for next month?? What cool prompt lists have you seen so far?
