There is just something different about making a newsletter post vs posting on social media….

Who knew maintaining a consistent newsletter would be so tough? To be honest, I find posting on social media significantly uses way less mental ram, than organizing a newsletter post and sending one out every few weeks.

But I am here to keep pushing forward, despite battling this upstream swimming!! 🐟︎

Mermay!

So it is Mermay. Happy Mermay!

And also!!! HAPPY Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!! (AANHPI)!!!! :o) :o) :o)

I will be honest, I did start drawing for this art challenge to try to draw mermaids. But my brain and hand wanted to draw some funky reversal sea creature designs instead of mermaids more (and various other ocean-inspired characters).

All processes and not-yet-seen mermay-inspired drawings on my patreon for the $5 tier and higher by the way!! All paid patrons help me continue making and sharing personal art with you, without the stress of dividing my time/energy with a day job.

OCs!! Echoes from Re!!

I got a few OC projects going on at the same time like a mad man!!

✎ First up is, the website:

I finally organized and shared the EFR chibis for my patrons and here is one for all of you! Ollie and Tala, my adorable skater twins! https://echoesfromre.weebly.com/

I have a total of 14 finished chibis and pages up! They are, of course, in a state of progress but I am very proud and excited about this! I am currently working on another set of 3 OCs to add to the site next!

✎ Next up is, the Vampire Trio ZINE!

So I have talked a bit about the zine before online and with my patrons. This zine is about 5% finished right now. So still very much in the beginning stages.

It is dedicated to all the art made for my current, don’t tell them favorite vampire trio: Roots, Lilac, and Sophie! This zine is also to introduce more of their story together as a trio and their relationship dynamics together. I plan to also have a “fanart section“ for anyone that also wants to be included in this silly OC zine too.

I just think they are such a riot and I want to show them more, with context!

Here is a sneak peek of one of the pages! Besides releasing this digitally in my itch.io and patreon; I hope to print this physically and give them away to people in my city! :o)

✎ And finally the comic!

This is a short comic about the first meeting of Lee and Danilo. They will be an official couple in the Echoes of Re lore. I have had this comic with CrossKrow sitting for multiple years, gathering dust.

The whole comic is actually all sketched out and finished. It now needs inking and text. I was burnt out during this time, so the comic was paused and neglected.

But as I suspected, working on the EFR Website has motivated me to pick up my projects and ideas for this world and give them a fighting chance to exist! Finally!!
